Bespoke Floating Vanity Unit
Case Study 2 of Our Bespoke Case Study Series
When a customer comes to us with an idea for a piece of furniture, we want to be sure we understand their requirements, so the final piece is exactly how they imagined it. That’s why we use 3D designs as part of the quotation process. This way the customer can see what they are buying before they commit to the purchase.
We recently designed a plywood floating vanity unit for a customer who wanted a bespoke piece to take centre stage in their bathroom refurbishment. Through discussions with the customer we were able to articulate their design into a 3D model. Just like in the example below.
To accommodate the plumbing for their sink, the customer had very specific requirements and accurate measurements for the back of the unit. We were able to articulate these in the 3D design to provide the assurance the customer required. And as you can see, the final result came out just as we planned.
As the vanity unit would need to survive the everyday wear-and-tear that all well-loved family bathrooms have to handle, we also discussed with the customer an appropriate finish. The customer was keen that the surface was hardwearing enough to survive a good clean, but also keep a natural look, as not to detract from the quality of the Baltic birch plywood. The overall finish provided a gentle sheen to the wood that emphasised the grain, whilst being water resistant and durable.
We love it when our customers provide photos of their furniture in situ and we’re delighted to see their vision come to fruition when we received this photo of the vanity unit fully fitted, complete with sink.
